Not Sure Which Mounting Method is Best for Your Project?
Rule-of-thumb:
If the site has a stable concrete surface, choose surface mount; if soil conditions are variable, rugged, or exposed to freeze–thaw cycles, direct bury is the better solution.
-
Existing hard surface or ability to pour a concrete footing → Surface Mount
-
Shifting soil or freeze–thaw conditions → Direct Bury
-
Uneven or rugged terrain → Direct Bury
