Next-Generation Power Distribution: Introducing the Pedoc 10P

Pedoc Power Solutions is expanding its product lineup with the new 10P Power Pedestal, a high-capacity outdoor electrical platform developed for demanding commercial, municipal, and public installations.

For years, customers have asked for a pedestal that could support greater electrical capacity, multiple high-amperage devices, on-site circuit protection, and feed-through power distribution—all within one secure enclosure.

The newly released 10P delivers that capability.

Rated up to 125 amps, the 10P is more than a fixed outlet enclosure. It is a field-configurable electrical platform that brings device mounting, circuit breaker provisions, feeder distribution, and service access together within one heavy-duty stainless steel pedestal. It can be configured around the requirements of a specific site and adapted as those requirements evolve.

Developed for Distributed Outdoor Power

Traditional outdoor power pedestals work well for individual receptacles and lower-amperage applications. Larger projects, however, may require multiple high-amperage connections, individual circuit protection, and a practical way to distribute power across several locations.

The 10P was developed specifically for these more demanding installations.

The pedestal accommodates up to three 2-inch conduit entries for incoming and outgoing feeders. This allows power to enter one pedestal and continue to additional locations as part of a feed-through or daisy-chained distribution system.

Instead of providing a separate home feed to every pedestal, project teams can design a more centralized distribution system while still configuring circuit protection at each location.

Configurable Power Distribution and Circuit Protection

The 10P includes the internal provisions needed to configure a project-specific electrical system.

Standard components include:

  • Distribution block
  • Preinstalled ground and neutral bars
  • 35mm DIN-rail bracket
  • Removable receptacle mounting plate
  • Stainless steel mounting hardware
  • Preinstalled grounding hardware

The integrated DIN-rail bracket accommodates field-installed circuit breakers, allowing individual circuits to be protected within the pedestal. Circuit breakers are selected and supplied by the installing contractor according to the electrical design and project requirements.

Locating circuit protection within the pedestal can also simplify system management. In an installation with multiple pedestal locations, a problem affecting one circuit can be isolated without necessarily interrupting service to the rest of the system.

The distribution block, DIN rail, ground bar, and neutral bar are positioned behind the removable front service panel, keeping the working components protected while maintaining access for installation and service.

Multiple Device Configurations

The 10P can accommodate up to three receptacles or switches using interchangeable mounting plates.

Available plate arrangements support combinations such as:

  • Two-device configurations

The removable mounting plates allow the pedestal to be configured for the immediate needs of a project without permanently limiting its future use.

A site might initially require high-amperage connections for food trucks or mobile kitchens but later need a different combination for seasonal lighting, event equipment, communications systems, or maintenance operations. The device mounting arrangement can be changed without replacing the entire pedestal enclosure.

Receptacles, switches, and circuit breakers are not supplied. These components are selected and installed in the field to match the project’s voltage, amperage, load, and circuit protection requirements.

Designed for Easier Installation and Service

Higher electrical capacity should not mean a more difficult installation.

The 10P features an open-bottom design that installs over the project conduit and conductors. Once the pedestal is positioned, the removable front panel gives electricians direct access for pulling conductors, routing wires, making terminations, and servicing the internal components.

The separate lockable hinged cover protects the device and circuit breaker area during normal use. The front service panel is secured with a security screw to help prevent unauthorized access while remaining removable for qualified service personnel.

This separation between the frequently accessed device area and the internal wiring compartment creates a cleaner, more organized installation and makes future electrical modifications more manageable.

Surface Mount or Direct-Bury Installation

The 10P is available as a surface-mounted pedestal with a welded integral base. An optional 10P direct-bury adapter allows the same pedestal to be used where a freestanding, below-grade support is preferred.

The adapter is installed below grade in concrete and provides the mounting pattern required to attach the 10P pedestal above grade. This gives project teams greater installation flexibility without requiring a completely different pedestal enclosure.

Standard above-grade heights include:

  • 30 inches
  • 36 inches
  • 42 inches
  • 48 inches

The attached 30-inch hinge-top drawing is shown as an example of the surface-mount model. It features a 10-inch-wide body, welded integral base, removable front service panel, lockable top enclosure, and internal provisions for power distribution and circuit protection.

An optional cord wrap is also available for projects where connected cords need to be stored neatly between uses.

Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Construction

The new 10P is manufactured from heavy-gauge stainless steel for long-term outdoor performance.

Standard construction includes:

  • 14-gauge Type 304 stainless steel body
  • Heavy 7-gauge stainless steel integral base
  • Welded pedestal construction
  • Stainless steel mounting hardware
  • Type 316 stainless steel upgrade available

Unlike ordinary painted carbon-steel enclosures, stainless steel provides corrosion resistance beneath the finish. If the powder coating is scratched or damaged, the underlying material will not rust like conventional steel.

Available finishes include:

  • Brushed stainless steel
  • Custom powder-coated colors

The 10P is cULus Listed to Standard 1773, rated NEMA 3R, manufactured in the United States, and available in ADA-compliant heights.
